Potted dahlias make excellent, long-lasting Mother's Day gifts. These “thriller” plants thrive in well-draining soil with at least 6 hours of sun and consistent watering. You can also plant them in large pots on a deck or terrace. Dahlias will bloom from summer until the first frost and are great for garden display and cut flowers. We’ve curated a set of three complementary varieties:
‘Bonesta' is a formal decorative style dahlia that offers up gorgeous pale pink 4-6” blooms with a creamy center and occasional darker pink striations. She is prolific and grows 36-42 inches tall.
‘Floorinoor’ is an anemone flowering dahlia with blooms in warm apricot-pink tones that soften to peach near the petal tips. The flowers are lush and full, standing atop strong stems that reach about 40–48 inches tall.
‘Jan Van Schaefflaar' is a vigorous pompon style dahlia with small blooms that are 2-3 inches wide. It's a great variety for adding depth to your dahlia collection and interest to bouquets. Grows to 36 inches tall.
